Scholarships, Grants & Awards
The TMBC Education Recognition Program (ERP) announces that applications for Scholarships, Grants and the “Dr. Robert E. Bailey Award for Academic Excellence” will be posted on the TMBC website beginning on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. The application can be completed online, or you can download and print it for submission to the church office by Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
The ERP Committee offers three categories of awards. They are as follows:
For High School Seniors Only: The Dr. Robert E. Bailey Award for Academic Excellence”. This is a non-monetary award for graduating seniors with an exemplary record of academic, church and community/school achievement.
The Next Award Category is for Graduating High School Seniors or any Church Member seeking for the first time a monetary grant or scholarship based on demonstrated financial need, a record of academic success or potential and church involvement. In this category, priority for financial assistance is given to the graduating high school senior.
The third and final category of awards are for current college students (or students who may be returning to college) who have received a scholarship or grant in previous years from the ERP Committee.
To be eligible for any of the award categories, an applicant must be a member of TMBC and active in a church ministry for at least two years. All application requirements and materials are available to you on the TMBC website beginning Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Please read and follow the directions that are printed for you. Should you require special assistance in obtaining the application materials, you may contact the church office.
The ERP Scholarship Committee will conduct interviews for Graduating High School Seniors or any Church member seeking an award for the first time. The interviews will take place May 18th through May 22nd via conference call. Please keep these dates available to schedule your interview.
Remember, the completed application can be submitted online or turned in to the Church office in a sealed envelope by 5 PM on Friday, May 4, 2020. Late applications are discouraged due to limited funds and the high need for college financial assistance. Late applications will be penalized and subject to reduced or no funding.
Announcement of individuals selected to receive the monetary and non-monetary awards will be made at the 11:00 AM service on Sunday, June 14, 2020.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
